Willer is an International IP Counsel and a dedicated member of the International Division at Gaowo. He plays a pivotal role in driving the firm's global relationship management, establishing and strengthening strategic alliances with leading IP law firms worldwide. Acting as a vital cross-border liaison, Willer actively manages a robust two-way referral network. He seamlessly facilitates inbound IP matters for international clients seeking protection in China, while simultaneously coordinating outbound IP strategies and global filings for domestic clients expanding into foreign markets.
In addition to his global relationship responsibilities, Willer provides strategic counseling on IP portfolio development, technology licensing, and cross-border IP management. His advisory practice also encompasses the preparation and prosecution of domestic and international patent and trademark applications, patentability and infringement opinions, and the drafting of complex intellectual property agreements.
Professional Experience
Willer brings a unique, multidisciplinary background to the intellectual property field. Prior to transitioning into IP advisory, he built an extensive career as a Wireless Network Optimization Engineer in the telecommunications industry. He collaborated extensively with leading global ICT companies, including Ericsson, Siemens, Nokia. In this capacity, he managed high-tech service teams across China and Southeast Asia, delivering critical network optimization solutions.
Since joining Gaowo, Willer has leveraged this deep technical foundation, team leadership experience, and advanced academic training (Ph.D.) to evaluate intellectual property matters from multiple vantage points. His practical background in telecommunications enables him to bridge the gap between complex R&D technologies and commercial business objectives. He is dedicated to keeping his clients informed on how the evolution of the global legal landscape and emerging technologies will directly impact their IP strategies going forward.
