The 2024 AIPPI World Congress was grandly opened in Hangzhou on October 19, 2024.Zhang Guoqing, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council attended the congress and read the letter of congratulation of the President Xi Jinping and delivered an opening speech.Sangichi Okoyama, President of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI), Deng Hongsen, Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization(WIPO) and Shen Changyu, Director General of the China’s National Intellectual Property Administration(CNIPA), addressed the opening ceremony of the congress successively.
Gaowo attended the congress as a sponsor,and on site Gaowo set up a booth to receive the participating guests from home and abroad and discussed and communicated with the professionals from a number of global law firms or agencies for cooperation and common development.
The world congress is held annually. And it is the first time in the 127-year history of AIPPI that the World congress is held in China.The congress was organized by CCPIT and AIPPI, and hosted by Hangzhou Municipal People's Government and AIPPI China Branch, with the theme of "Balanced Protection and Innovative Development of Intellectual Property Rights.
About 2,300 intellectual property professionals from 92 countries and regions attended the conference with more than 1,500 overseas participants.The conference lasted for four days, including nearly 100 professional activities, such as: the opening ceremony, the president's council, the plenary meeting, the special forum, the executive committee meeting, the closing ceremony as well as cultural activities rich in Hangzhou characteristics and other.
